Equitable education and the language ideological work of academic language (Introduction to special issue on academic language)

After briefly describing some of the contributions academic language proponents have made in advancing educational equity for language-minoritized students, I point to central question this special issue: Might construct also perform ideological work that contributes inequitable outcomes students? then describe field ideology before introducing each articles issue.
